Chapman University seeks a dynamic, experienced, and creative Vice President for Strategic Marketing and Communications (VPSMC).
Reporting to the Executive Vice President of University Advancement and serving on the senior leadership team of the University, the VPSMC is the senior public affairs and communications executive for the campus and the primary contact point for all media. The VPSMC will be joining the University at an exciting time. The University is in the midst of tremendous growth in reputation, physical development, and academic standing over the years and has recently embarked upon a new branding campaign. The next VPSMC will be expected to further build the strategic marketing and communications function, continue to nurture relationships with academic and administrative units and will execute an integrated and differentiated branding strategy for Chapman. By more effectively telling the Chapman story, the VPSMC will play a critical role in elevating the University to newer heights in national and international distinction.
To be successful, the VPSMC will provide leadership and address the following set of key opportunities and challenges:
Execute and direct the evolution of a comprehensive marketing, communications, and branding strategy to advance Chapman's exposure locally, nationally, and internationally
Strengthen connections across the University to enhance institutional communications and public affairs activities internally and externally
Foster a change of culture within the marketing and communications team to provide even more excellent service and strategic deployment of resources
